The Symphonic Chorale of Southwest Florida provides our region access to inspiring choral masterworks through performance and education.

We are a group of auditioned volunteers under the direction of Dr. Timothy McDonnell. Our members range in age from high school to senior citizens. What we share is a love of choral singing and the desire to perform a wide variety of music, accompanied or a capella.

During our inaugural season, we sang a breathtaking repertoire of blockbusters: Handel’s Messiah (companioned with Finzi’s In Terra Pax,) Dvorak’s Mass in D, Brahms’s Schicksalslied, and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy.

Our 2012-2013 season, From Broadway to Main Street: A Season of American Song, showed our versatility as we strutted down the Great White Way, journeyed home for the holidays, and hiked through Appalachia in the spring.

Our third season, Choral Glory: A Season of Power and Passion, once again emphasized great classical choral works. We sang works of both Michael and Josef Haydn, Vivaldi, and Vaughan-Williams. At a community-wide choral festival, we hosted 100 singers who performed Messiah, this time led by the inspiring Robert Page.

Our fourth season starts off with our second annual choral festival, Sing Out! Baroque, in a brand new venue and under the direction of an internationally recognized clinician and conductor, Patrick Walders. In December, we’ll collaborate with the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra in two Holiday Pops concerts. Our March concert will be self-produced. Then in April, we’ll be on stage with the SWFLSO again in the monumental Beethoven Symphony 9.
